Isco Alarcón made Champions League history as Real Betis beat Lille 3-2, coming from behind on the club’s return to the competition after 21 years.

The 34-year-old started on his Betis Champions League debut. He became the first player to feature in the tournament for five different clubs from the same country, per MísterChip.

His appearances have come with Valencia (2010/2011), Málaga (2012/2013), Real Madrid (2013/2021), Sevilla (2022/2023) and Real Betis (2026/2027).

He broke through at Valencia in 2010/2011, playing against Bursaspor in a 6-1 win, then drawing with Manchester United.

His most memorable run came with Málaga’s EuroMálaga under Manuel Pellegrini, a campaign that ended in the quarter-finals against Dortmund.

At Real Madrid he spent eight years in the competition and won it three times, all in succession. He later returned with Sevilla in 2022/2023 but the team did not progress beyond the group stage, and his last appearance that season came on 13 November.
