"It wasn't as easy as it looks" – Kompany reacts to Bayern's 5-1 thrashing of Pafos | OneFootball

Bayern Munich secured a comfortable 5-1 victory over Pafos in the Champions League on Tuesday, but according to head coach Vincent Kompany, the game was not as straightforward for the German champions as the scoreline suggests.

“I was sure that Pafos won’t be easy opponents at home – and it wasn’t as easy as it looks," Kompany said in a post-match interview.

"Especially in the second half, we had to fight hard to stabilise the game. Then we became more and more dangerous again. We handled it well. We trust all the players we have, which is why we use them all. We’ll carry on doing that. My priority is that we continue to perform. Everything we achieve is only achieved through our team. I have 100 percent faith in every player in my squad.

"I hope the people in Cyprus saw how much respect we had, how we pressed and ran. Now we’re well under way in the Champions League and focusing on the next tasks, like we did today.”

Next up for Kompany and Bayern is Saturday's Bundesliga clash with Eintracht Frankfurt.
