Eliesse Ben Seghir (20) has completed a move to Bayer Leverkusen, worth €35m. Speaking just before the officialisation of the move, his manager at AS Monaco, Adi Hutter, gave him a warning.

Ben Seghir struggled for consistency in his final year at his formative club. There were rumours in the media pertaining to his relationship with Hutter. The Morocco international was reportedly keen to leave Monaco this summer. Just one day before the closure of the transfer window, he did get his move.

Whilst Hutter and Monaco wished Ben Seghir well, the former had a word of warning for the forward. “He sometimes told me that I was hard on him. But in the end, it is better to learn these things here, because it won’t be easier in Germany. I have prepared him a little bit. We have a great relationship. He is a great player, and a fantastic boy,” said Hutter in a press conference attended by Get French Football News.
