On Zinedine Zidane's return to the Stade de France, this time as coach, France drew 1-1 with Italy, leaving qualification for the next stage of the Nations League wide open.

Michael Olise opened the scoring with a superb strike before Bastoni levelled 20 minutes from time.

After a balanced first half, with France holding a slight edge, Olise did what he does best in the 54th minute. Following a rehearsed free-kick routine, Rayan Cherki gave the ball a slight touch before the Bayern midfielder struck a powerful effort past Donnarumma. The ball clipped the bar on its way in to give France the lead.

Roberto Mancini's side responded in the 67th minute. Bastoni took a risk pressing near the French penalty area and surprised Lucas da Cunha, winning possession before advancing and beating Mike Maignan to complete an excellent move.

Issa Doumbia came on for Italy in the 82nd minute. Five minutes later, Dayot Upamecano was sent off, leaving France with 10 men for the closing stages.

In the other group match, Belgium beat Turkey 3-0, leaving the visitors without a point after three games.

Kevin De Bruyne scored twice, while Lukaku added a late third to seal the victory for Van Bommel's side.

De Bruyne opened the scoring in the 10th minute with a trademark run through the middle. He exchanged passes with Lukebakio before bursting into the box and beating Çakir.

The second arrived shortly before the hour mark, when the Napoli midfielder reacted quickest to a rebound on the edge of the area and fired into the net, leaving the Turkish goalkeeper with no chance.

Romelu Lukaku, Belgium's all-time leading scorer, came off the bench to complete the victory. After a quickly taken free-kick, the forward, who plays in Turkish football, tapped home to make it 3-0.
