Italy’s Raspadori ‘to miss’ France and Türkiye after Atalanta return | OneFootball

Giacomo Raspadori has been released from the Italy squad through injury and will miss their remaining Nations League fixtures, returning to Atalanta.

Tuttosport reports the federation confirmed on Tuesday evening that he underwent tests, has been ruled out of the coming matches, and will go back to his club. That sidelines him for Friday’s meeting with Zinedine Zidane’s France at the Stade de France and the return against Türkiye in Bologna on five October.

Raspadori sat out as the group resumed work at Coverciano after the overnight flight back from Türkiye, where the Azzurri won 4-1 in Bursa.

Roberto Mancini split the squad in two. The 10 who stayed behind rather than travelling to Bursa, along with the non-starters there, trained on the grass and in the gym with attack-versus-defence drills and small-sided games.

The others focused on recovery, with those who featured using the pool and cryotherapy facilities at Fiorentina’s Viola Park, available as Paolo Vanoli’s squad do not resume until Wednesday.

Tactical work for Paris has been pushed to Wednesday afternoon. The setback is unwelcome after scrutiny of the forward line since the Belgium defeat, though Monday’s 4-1 win eased the mood. Mancini may also rotate again for Bologna, sparing another group the trip to France.
