Contract talks between Harry Kane and FC Bayern are picking up steam. After sporting director Max Eberl recently reported on an extremely positive exchange with the English superstar, Kane himself has now also commented on the negotiations.

After the Bundesliga opener against VfB Stuttgart, the striker confirmed that concrete talks about a contract extension have now begun. Kane made no secret of the fact that, from his perspective, the negotiations are heading in the right direction so far.

“The talks began last week—so far, so good,” Kane explained after the match. However, the forward does not expect a quick agreement.

“Maybe this will be my last contract.”

Kane’s current contract with the German record champions runs through the summer of 2027. Both sides are actively exploring the possibility of an early extension.

Kane considers it perfectly normal that an agreement won’t be reached within a few days. “But it won’t happen in a week or two. It’s about the details,” the Bayern star explained.

Particularly interesting was Kane’s subsequent comment on the significance of the ongoing negotiations. “I’m 33—maybe this is my last contract, well, a big contract,” the Englishman emphasized.

With this, Kane is hinting that the upcoming contract decision could be one of the last major turning points in his career. This likely makes it all the more important to him that everything falls into place regarding the contract term and other details.

As recently reported, there are reportedly still differing views on the contract term. While Bayern Munich is said to favor an extension through 2029, Kane could envision an even longer commitment through 2030.

There apparently are no fundamental doubts on either side about continuing their partnership. Max Eberl had already made that clear before the start of the Bundesliga season.

“The contract talks, I have to say quite honestly: incredibly harmonious, an incredible sense of teamwork,” the Bayern sporting director had explained on Sky. Eberl spoke of a “player who would very much like to stay” and a club “that would very much like to extend his contract.”

Kane’s comments now align perfectly with this assessment. When asked about the current status of his future, the striker summed up his feelings in a promising way: “It looks pretty good.”

While a signature isn’t imminent just yet, it’s becoming increasingly clear that Kane and FC Bayern fundamentally want to continue together.

For the Munich club, extending their star striker’s contract would mark another important step forward. Following the new contracts for Max Eberl and Jan-Christian Dreesen, the record champions are thus ensuring long-term planning stability with one of their most important players.
