Harry Kane is undoubtedly the best player in the Bundesliga these days. It’s no wonder that he was named Soccer Player of the Year in a poll of journalists organized by kicker.
His 2025–26 season was impressive. He played at the highest level, excelling not only as a goal-scorer but also as a playmaker and assist provider, while also working hard defensively.
The significant investment FC Bayern made back then has undoubtedly paid off. Kane set new records and is on the verge of breaking the next historic record in the Bundesliga.
At stake is the number of games it took a forward to score 100 league goals. Kane currently has 98 goals, so he could break this barrier very soon. And he needed only 94 games to score those 98 goals. That’s an absolutely incredible feat.
By comparison: Dieter Müller is currently the player who reached 100 goals the fastest. However, it took him 129 games to do so. Bundesliga record-holder Gerd Müller needed 136 games, while Robert Lewandowski needed as many as 168.

So even a brace in the season opener against VfB Stuttgart could be enough for Kane to set the new record for 100 Bundesliga goals.
Alongside this pursuit of the record, the club is also looking to extend the player’s contract early .FC Bayern is planning crucial talks with Kane, who has recently spoken out several times about his future but remains completely relaxed.
In principle, Kane’s salary is not expected to change significantly; the main point of discussion at the moment is whether the player will sign through the summer of 2029 or 2030, or through 2029 with an option for both sides. This is still being worked out, though all parties are very confident that an agreement will be reached.
