Liverpool finally have their next Fabinho.

It's been such a long time that the Reds have tried to replace the Brazilian. Remember how assured everything was in the middle of the park with Fabinho providing the anchor.

The Brazilian was never a flashy midfielder, he was capable of scoring some unreal goals. But Fabinho's biggest strength was just how reliable he was.

He was no nonsense. He could sweep away any danger. He just had this sixth-sense for it, almost like spidey-senses. It nullified the opposition and made Liverpool impenetrable.

Of course, it wasn't just his defending, Fabinho was a composed player on the ball. He could dictate the rhythm of the game and provide this line-breaking passes to instigate attacks.

Liverpool's attempts to replace Fabinho

Towards the final campaign of his Liverpool career, Fabinho did look a little jaded. It was still a surprise to see him go.

However, it seemed like Liverpool had a plan. They had tried to sign Aurelien Tchouameni. And then they pivoted towards Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo.

We all know how those pursuits ended. Ultimately Wataru Endo was signed before Arne Slot and Richard Hughes targeted Martin Zubimendi - once again to no avail the following summer.

Now the new flavour of the month appears to be Lamine Camara. The Senegalese midfielder is catching the eye at AS Monaco - exactly where Fabinho made a name for himself.

And he does feel like an ideal profile. But Iraola may already have a player who could become his next Fabinho.

How Trey Nyoni is becoming Liverpool's next Fabinho

It was pretty apparent that the perfect midfielder for the Reds' system under Andoni Iraola was Nyoni.

In pre-season he proved just how good he was. That pass to Jeremie Frimpong for Florian Wirtz's goal against Wrexham and his overall performances have just been excellent.

Now in his first start of the campaign against Tottenham, Nyoni has once again proved he is the perfect midfield option.

There's just something Fabinho esque about the way he plays. He controls the middle of the park so well and he's got the ability to sniff out danger.

Against Tottenham, while he was on the pitch he won the most tackles and made the most recoveries. He was brilliant with his passing as well, instigating things from deep in Fabinho fashion.

Nyoni has it all. He is Liverpool's next Fabinho, and he's an insane talent who should play more. It will prove to be ironic that the Reds signed their next Fabinho for a bargain and under the radar from Leicester back in 2023 - the same summer when the Brazilian departed the club.

They had the answer to their search all along.
