Ivan Provedel’s proposed move to Inter has slowed, with doubts over a fee leaving the transfer unresolved.

Il Corriere dello Sport reports that Lazio did not accept an offer of €three million, maintaining a valuation of around €four to five million, so the switch is not certain.

The 32-year-old has been Lazio’s first-choice goalkeeper for four years, and both sides have agreed to separate this summer. The club want to cash in with only one year left on his deal, and the player is open to leaving after losing his main ally at Formello following Maurizio Sarri’s exit.

Last month the move was portrayed as close. Provedel was said to have trimmed his salary to join his boyhood club, and there were claims Lazio had accepted €three million, yet no concrete progress has followed in recent weeks.

Talks may have hit a snag, but the gap is about €one million, so a compromise could still emerge if all parties remain aligned.

Lazio are preparing for life after Provedel. Gennaro Gattuso is ready to install the returning Christos Mandas as first-choice, with Edoardo Motta as back-up. Alessio Furlanetto faces a spell out after ACL surgery on Wednesday, so Davide Renzetti could step up to the first team.
