Rangers bound winger Couhaib Driouech has admitted he is looking forward to his Gers medical and joining the Ibrox side, having heard good stories about the club.

The Gers appear to have beaten off competition from Colorado Rapids and Celta Vigo to secure the signing of Driouech, with Derek McInnes’ side working hard to come out on top.

PSV Eindhoven were willing to sell Driouech provided their valuation was met and Rangers have agreed an €8m fee to bring him to Ibrox.

Driouech has also agreed to the switch, with the transfer now close to completion.

It emerged this morning that the Moroccan winger will fly to Glasgow at around 15:00 CET today ‘where he will immediately undergo his medical’ ahead of joining Rangers.

Driouech admitted that he is ‘looking forward to the medical examination’ and is hoping everything goes smoothly so he can put his signature on the dotted line, highlighting his desire to complete his move to the Light Blues.

The winger also revealed that he has heard positive reports about the Rangers supporters, insisting he is looking forward to experiencing the fans in the stadium.

Speaking to Dutch journalist Mounir Boualin, he said: “I’m looking forward to the medical examination and hope everything goes well, so I can put my signature on the dotted line.

“I’ve heard really good stories about the Rangers supporters.

“I’m looking forward to experiencing the fans in the stadium.”

The 24-year-old will sign a four-year contract upon the completion of his medical.

The Light Blues will be hoping Driouech can help bolster the team and push them higher up the Scottish Premiership table, as Rangers have earned just one point from their first two games.

However, the Gers have suffered a significant blow early in their campaign, with Youssef Chermiti suffering an ACL injury that is expected to sideline the striker for a lengthy period.
