Rangers ‘Seem To Have Convinced’ Target As Swoop ‘Picking Up’ | OneFootball

Rangers ‘seem to have convinced’ Couhaib Driouech to make a move to Ibrox this summer, even though he had a slight preference towards La Liga club Celta Vigo.

The Gers have made another discouraging start to their campaign, as they ended up losing their league game at the weekend to Hibernian, on the back of a Europa League qualifying loss.

Rangers have only one point after two games and are hoping to bring more bodies through the door before the window shuts down.

Derek McInnes’ side have brought in multiple new players to beef up the squad, but they are yet to convince the fans with their performances.

Right winger Daisuke Yokota has been brought in from Hannover, but they are focused on beefing up the other wing as well.

PSV Eindhoven’s Driouech emerged as their top target, but they looked in danger of missing out on him after Celta Vigo entered the race.

Earlier today, the Scottish giants struck a verbal agreement with the Eredivisie giants for a move, but the player was not ready to sign on the dotted line, with work still to do.

However, they have made good progress on the Moroccan wide attacker, as he ‘seems to be convinced’ about joining now, according to Dutch journalist Rik Elfrink.

Even though the pacy winger preferred a move more to the La Liga side, it looks like he could snub Celta Vigo and matters are ‘picking up more and more’ in Rangers’ push to land him.

The Gers, though, need to be cautiously optimistic about Driouech as the deal has not been agreed fully yet and Celta Vigo could still launch a hijack attempt.

Rangers will need to iron out some final details with PSV Eindhoven to ensure the 24-year-old is welcomed in the coming days.

The Gers chased Driouech before he joined PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2024 and landing him would bring to an end a lengthy pursuit.

Driouech has scored 12 times in 61 games for PSV Eindhoven and is expected to cost Rangers around the €8m mark.
