Blindkilde Brown signs City contract extension 

The 23-year-old midfielder has signed a new contract which will keep her at the Joie Stadium until 2030.

The England international established herself in Andrée Jeglertz’s side last season, featuring 29 times in our 32 matches last season to help us secure the Barclays Women’s Super League title and FA Cup trophy last term.

And Blindkilde Brown believes that working alongside some of the finest midfielders in world football at City – such as Yui Hasegawa - has helped her realise that exciting potential.

“I think we have a really nice mix of experience in the midfield, and I think I learn from each and every one of them every single day,” Blindkilde Brown said

“They each have different attributes that I can learn from and especially Yui [Hasegawa] I think since I came here, she’s been here.

“Just training alongside of her, playing alongside of her, I just learn so much from her.”

The 2026/27 season will also see City compete in the Champions League for the first time in two years, a stage where Blindkilde Brown is hoping to show what she can do.

The Blues face trips to Bayern Munich, BK Hacken and Inter in the League Phase, while we’re also set to host Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Austria Wien.

It’s an exciting prospect for the WSL champions and, after getting a taste of European football in 2024/25, Blindkilde Brown is looking forward to proving what she and City can do against the best in Europe.

“We all play football because we want to play in the best leagues and compete globally,” she added.

“To be in Europe again is really nice. We got to the quarter-finals two years ago and I think as a team now, we’ve grown so much.

“I think we really can show what we’re made of in the league.”
