Ivory Coast won their third Africa Cup of Nations after edging out Nigeria in Sunday’s final.

William Troost-Ekong silenced the partisan crowd at Ebimpé’s Olympic Stadium by opening the scoring with heading home late in the first half.

But Franck Kessié pulled the hosts level shortly after the hour mark through a downward header from Simon Adingra’s corner.

Sébastien Haller snatched the spoils just nine minutes from time as he met another Adingra delivery with an outstretched leg in the penalty area.

The Elephants changed head coaches midway through the tournament as Emerse Faé replaced Jean-Louis Gasset following a poor group stage performance.
