Ivory Coast strikes tourism partnership with Chelsea FC
Ivory Coast continues to expand its strategy to boost international presence through sports. Following its partnerships with Olympique de Marseille and the rugby club Stade Français, Ivory Coast is preparing to seal a major new partnership with English powerhouse Chelsea FC, one of the most legendary clubs in the Premier League.
Chelsea players will soon be seen wearing shirts emblazoned with the "Sublime Côte d'Ivoire" logo in the coming months. According to Africa Intelligence, the host nation and reigning champions of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations have finalized a tourism partnership agreement with the London giants.
Following its success in France, the Sublime Côte d'Ivoire campaign is now targeting the British and Irish markets. Tourism and Leisure Minister Siandou Fofana is expected to travel to London at the end of March for the official unveiling of the partnership. The choice of Chelsea FC, a two-time UEFA Champions League winner, is highly symbolic—the club where national legend Didier Drogba carved out one of the most spectacular chapters of his remarkable football career.
