Elye Wahi will miss Ivory Coast’s World Cup group match against Germany in Toronto on Saturday after he was not authorised to enter Canada.
The Ivorian Football Federation said on Thursday that he cannot be considered because the required administrative authorisations for entry into Canada have not been obtained. It added that it has not received official notification of any legal or administrative proceedings and expressed full support for the forward, describing him as an important member of the squad.

Wahi spent the second half of last season on loan at OGC Nice from Eintracht Frankfurt.
He is currently under investigation in France over suspected match-fixing.
The forward started and played 56 minutes in Ivory Coast’s opening 1-0 win over Ecuador at the World Cup.
