Jackson Irvine is moving from St Pauli to J.League side Cerezo Osaka, with the two clubs keeping the terms undisclosed.

St Pauli director of sport Andreas Bornemann said Irvine asked to pursue a move to Japan after returning from the World Cup. He thanked him for his commitment and wished his family well.

The Australian international, 33, joined the Kiezkickers in summer 2021 and quickly established himself as a key player.

He later took the captain’s armband and played a major role in the club’s promotion to the Bundesliga.
