Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho is reportedly holding out for Chelsea to make a move for him despite attempts by Juventus to secure his services.

Sancho has been mentioned to be on the radar of Chelsea and Juventus, with both clubs keen to sign him before transfer deadline day on Friday.

Chelsea are thought to be open to doing a deal only if they can include a player as part of the transfer. Raheem Sterling has been mooted in this respect.

Sterling’s time at Stamford Bridge appears to be over amidst Enzo Maresca’s insistence that the winger is not in his plans for the future.

Meanwhile, a report from RMC Sport that was covered by The Peoples Person earlier today claimed that United and Juventus had reached a loan agreement for Sancho to make a switch to the Serie A.

RMC Sport noted that the deal includes an obligation to buy the 24-year-old at the end of the 2024/25 season.

The Guardian have given an update and indicated that Sancho’s preferred destination is United’s direct rivals, Chelsea.

“Jadon Sancho is holding out for an offer from Chelsea despite Juventus persisting with their efforts to sign the winger on loan from Manchester United.”

“Chelsea have held talks with United over a swap deal involving Raheem Sterling, who is out of favour at Stamford Bridge. United have shown little interest in Ben Chilwell despite being offered the Chelsea left-back.”

“While little progress has been made with moving Sterling, it is understood Chelsea remain in the running to take Sancho in a separate deal. The 24-year-old, who is not in Erik ten Hag’s plans at United, is thought to have indicated a preference to join Chelsea over Juventus.”

Jacob Steinberg explains that the “situation is open” and Thiago Motta’s side have not given up on landing Sancho on a temporary basis.

United return to action on Sunday when they host bitter rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford.
