Jaiden Francis-Caesar has signed his first professional contract with West Bromwich Albion. According to ExpressAndStar.com, the 18-year-old Londoner has agreed a one-year deal with a club option for a further 12 months.
The versatile forward stepped up from under-18s to under-21s last season and impressed. He scored against Valencia and Borussia Monchengladbach in the Premier League International Cup for Leigh Downing's under-21s, and supplied an assist in the victory over Juventus.
Francis-Caesar moved to the Black Country in 2024 from the 'XYZ Football Academy', a Croydon-based programme that offers non-academy youngsters a route into the professional game. His two-year scholarship ended this summer.
He is viewed as a good addition to the programme, with strong physical and football attributes. Pace has been a powerful part of his game and could help drive his progress.
The emphasis now is on greater consistency, building on last season's work to understand what is required at the next level. Another year at Albion is intended to aid his maturation and development into steady, established performances.
