Jamal Musiala and Kai Havertz will miss Germany’s second Nations League match against Greece on Sunday at 20:45, and are leaving the squad.

The federation announced in a statement on Friday that Musiala has a tear in his right thigh and Havertz has a muscle strain, and both will depart the camp earlier than planned.

On Thursday’s opener in Amsterdam against the Netherlands, which finished 1-1, Musiala halted his warm-up despite being due to start after feeling pain in his right thigh.

Nadiem Amiri replaced him at the last moment in the playmaker role. Tests confirmed a muscle tear and Musiala will return to Munich for treatment. The severity and any timeline for his absence were not specified.

After a robust challenge by Quinten Timber, booked in the 28th minute, Havertz left the pitch. The Arsenal forward was replaced minutes later by Younes Ebnoutalib.

To cover the absences, Jonathan Burkardt and Florian Wirtz will join up with the squad from Friday, earlier than initially planned.
