West Brom are waiting on the extent of Nolan Galves’ knee injury suffered in Wednesday’s win at Derby, with Baggies boss James Morrison saying the early signs were not encouraging.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, the 23-year-old will undergo a scan after he came off worse in a challenge with Rams winger Mo Fuseini early in the second half at Pride Park.
Galves had been introduced in the 37th minute after debutant Brayann Pereira was sent off. Morrison added the defender would be assessed as usual and confirmed the problem was his knee.
Albion had taken the lead through Aune Heggebo’s 16th minute strike and then held on with 10 men to record only their second league win away at Derby since 1919.
The setback leaves Morrison with a selection puzzle at right-back when QPR visit on Saturday lunchtime. Left-back Callum Styles finished the match on the right for the final 38 minutes after Galves departed.
