James Morrison has put any decision on his West Brom future on hold after a goalless draw with promotion-chasing Ipswich confirmed Championship safety.

The result arrived less than 24 hours after a two-point deduction for profit and sustainability breaches. Morrison told ExpressAndStar.com he is focused on seeing out the season before talks with the club.

There have been loud calls for a permanent appointment, but the former midfielder wants the campaign completed first. He will mark 20 years at Albion next year.

A raucous Hawthorns railed at the EFL and the sanction appeared to galvanise the fanbase. Morrison felt he barely needed a team talk and had full faith in his players. He said the deduction did not deter the squad.

Albion were on top for more than an hour against high-flying opponents. He framed it as a measure of progress, said the team are in good form and praised their relentless work without the ball.
