Jamie Vardy is expected to leave Cremonese at the end of his contract, but the 39-year-old is not yet considering retirement.

According to L'Équipe, he is expected to depart when his deal expires on 30 June, a year after arriving, and he aims to find a new club during the close season.

Cremonese were seventh after six rounds but finished 18th, four points behind Lecce in 17th, after Sunday’s 1-4 defeat to Como.

Vardy scored seven times in 29 Serie A matches but could not keep the promoted side in the top flight.

The England international, capped 26 times with seven goals, rose to prominence at Leicester from 2012 to 2025, recording 200 goals in 500 appearances for the Foxes.

He is seeking a new challenge as he approaches 40, which he reaches on 11 January 2027.
