Jamie Vardy made the switch from Leicester City to Cremonese in the 2025 summer transfer window
Jamie Vardy’s lengthy and successful career with Leicester City came to an end last summer following the club’s relegation from the Premier League.
The forward became a Foxes legend during his 13-year stint at the King Power Stadium, twice helping them to promotion from the Championship, alongside first ever Premier League title and FA Cup success.
The 39-year-old became an England international during his time with Leicester, representing the club at Euro 2016, as well as the 2018 World Cup.
Vardy maintained his goal scoring prowess right to the end with the Foxes, scoring nine times in his final season with the team, but it wasn’t enough to prevent the side from suffering relegation with an 18th place finish in the table.
Here we use estimated figures from Capology to see what the forward now makes with his new club Cremonese, and whether a return to the King Power could ever be on the cards…

Vardy departed Leicester in the summer of 2025 following the expiration of his contract, making him a free agent.
He made the switch to Cremonese on a one-year contract, joining the Serie A side after they achieved promotion from Serie B.
The 39-year-old has enjoyed a strong first half of the year with the Italian club, and he even became the first Englishman to ever win the player of the month award in the division’s history back in November.
Only Antonio Sanabria earns a greater salary from the top flight team, with the forward receiving £49,136-a-week as part of his contract.
Vardy has contributed five goals and one assist from 20 appearances in Serie A so far this season, with the team battling against relegation back to the second tier.
Cremonese are currently 16th in the division, only five points clear of 18th place Fiorentina with 14 games remaining.

It remains to be seen whether a return to Leicester could ever be on the cards, particularly with the team struggling in a battle against relegation to League One.
However, a return to English football has been suggested nonetheless, with his former Leicester teammate Christian Fuchs revealing that he discussed signing the 39-year-old.
The former full-back is currently in charge at Newport County, and he claimed that he spoke to Vardy about a possible move, even if he knew the answer would ultimately be no.
"I asked Jamie if he wants to pack his bags," said Fuchs, via the Daily Mail.
"Of course I did, even though I knew what the answer would be!"
A return to Leicester after just one year would be quite a sensational turnaround for Vardy, and perhaps everyone would be better off if his career with the club ended the way it did.
The 39-year-old departed as a club legend who achieved two remarkable feats in winning the Premier League and the FA Cup during his time at the King Power.
While he will always be remembered fondly by supporters, it was time for both parties to move on by the time his contract ended in 2025.
