Negotiations for Jáminton Campaz to join Club América have stalled, with Rosario Central standing firm on an 8 million dollar valuation.

América then doubled their offer to 6 million dollars. Campaz stepped away from training for two days as talks continued, but Rosario Central made clear they would not sell for less than 8 million.

Campaz returned to training, played, and scored, later stating he wanted to handle any exit the right way. Team-mate Ángel Di Maria is trying to persuade him to stay.

América remain interested but are not prepared to meet the asking price, so discussions are currently on hold.

Rosario Central want Campaz available for their Copa Libertadores tie against Corinthians of Brazil. The club’s intention is to keep him for this semester, then revisit a transfer in January, whether with América or another side.

If there is no breakthrough this week, his arrival would be hard to envisage.
