Expect activity from clubs with stakes at both ends, Villa reinforcing near the summit and West Ham seeking survival help.

Jean-Philippe Mateta, 28, wants to leave Crystal Palace despite a deal to 2027. Nottingham Forest have bid £35m, and Palace have assessed Wolves’ Jorgen Strand Larsen and Angers’ Sidiki Cherif.

Wolves rejected £50m and £55m from Newcastle last summer, and talks continue after Leeds offered upwards of £30m. Palace remain keen, and a sale now looks more feasible.

Fulham’s Harry Wilson has nine goals and under six months left, with Aston Villa admirers. His future could hinge on Fulham landing Man City’s Oscar Bobb, expected to cost over £30m.

Tammy Abraham remains Villa’s priority. Beşiktaş in Türkiye have paid £11.2m to Roma and are close to agreeing around £18m with Villa.

With his FA case resolved, Lucas Paquetá has explored a Flamengo return and West Ham are close to a £35.5m deal. Burnley want James Ward-Prowse on loan and talks have resumed.

As it stands, Andy Robertson to Tottenham is off after a bid of about £5m, with Liverpool not proceeding despite an agreement in principle. He has under six months left and can sign a 2026-27 pre-contract.
