Speaking after the full-time whistle at Villa Park, full-back Jayden Bogle admitted his teammates were disappointed they weren’t able to see out the victory but was still pleased with a valuable draw on the road.

Anton Stach had put the Whites on course for all three points with a superb free kick until Tammy Abraham’s late equaliser ensured spoils were shared in the West Midlands.

“A lot of frustration,” the defender began. “It is always difficult when you concede a late goal like that but they had a lot of possession in the second half and we were sort of sitting a bit too deep.

“If you do that at times obviously they are going to get chances but, yeah, just a bit frustrated. I think we had chances to win the game but it is a difficult place to come so you have to take your chances or you can get punished. Again, a tough place to come but a good point.

“I think tomorrow when you look back at it and how tough this is to come to, you value the point a lot but, yeah, just immediate reaction after the game is obviously frustration.

“I think it was fantastic, the goal,” Bogle then added, discussing Stach’s wonder-strike. “I have got no words for man. I couldn’t believe it when it went in.

“I don’t think anyone realised he had scored for about five seconds but, yeah, his performance was fantastic – his energy with the ball, without the ball.”
