Jean Butez has extended his Côme contract to 2030 after an ever-present campaign with the Italian club. The 31-year-old started 44 matches in all competitions last term.
In a club statement, he said he felt at home from day one at Côme with the club, team and supporters. He called the extension a sign of trust and said he remains hungry for new challenges, believing this is only the start of something special.
Butez had joined Côme from Royal Antwerp in January 2025 on a three-year deal.
Next season he will play Champions League football with Côme. He was at one point mentioned alongside Robin Risser as a candidate to be France’s third-choice goalkeeper at the World Cup.
Promoted in 2024, Côme finished fourth in Serie A, ahead of AC Milan, Juventus and Atalanta. The squad also includes Frenchmen Maxence Caqueret and Lucas Da Cunha.
