Jean-David Beauguel, 34, pieced together a low-profile, globe-trotting career, crowned in 2022 as Czech champion and top scorer with Viktoria Plzen.

According to L'Équipe, his Toulouse story comprised just one senior match. It came in a Coupe de la Ligue defeat to Nice, 1-2 on 31 August 2011, despite his early left-footed goal.

He would move on and later flourish in Czechia, including a brace for Viktoria Plzen against Zlin in a 2-1 win on 2 October 2021, during the title season.

Those milestones sat alongside a career largely played out away from the spotlight, much of it spent abroad.

Only the most diligent Toulouse archivists are likely to remember his fleeting cameo, a footnote that preceded his success far from home.
