Andrée Jeglertz has confirmed Aoba Fujino is a doubt for City’s trip to West Ham in the Subway Women’s League Cup this weekend.

The Japan international was substituted during the second half of our 6-1 win over Aston Villa last time out after picking up a small issue.

The Blues head coach explained the winger will be assessed by the club’s medical staff before a full prognosis is made.

But Jeglertz says the trip to the Chigwell Construction Stadium on Sunday 21 December may come too soon for Fujino.

He explained: “She has been assessed during the week and she is a question mark for the game on Sunday. That’s all I can say at the moment.”

City enter the meeting with West Ham after the Hammers’ parted company with former head coach Rehanne Skinner on Thursday.

It brought the former Spurs boss’ time with the east Londoners to an end after over two years at the helm.

When asked if Skinner’s departure had altered City’s preparations for the League Cup semi-final, Jeglertz added: “We are not thinking that much about that.

“We’ll see on Sunday and we are preparing for how we think West Ham are going to approach the game and what they’ve done before.

“They did a good game here against us in November. I am sure they will do everything they can to make it a difficult game for us.”
