Jenni Hermoso has rejoined Atlético Madrid on a contract to 2027, the club said in a statement. The 36-year-old returns for a third spell after departing Mexican side Tigres.
She first entered the club at 12 and debuted for the first team in 2006. The World Cup winner has also played for Rayo Vallecano and Barcelona, Tyreso in Sweden, PSG in France, and Pachuca and Tigres in Mexico.
In her second stint in 2018, after PSG, she helped Atlético win their most recent league title, scoring 24 goals and finishing as the division’s top scorer. She found the net in 17 of the 28 matches she played that season.
A Spain international since 2007, she won the 2023 World Cup against England and the 2024 Nations League against France. On her return, Hermoso said she felt fortunate to choose her destination and privileged to be where she wants to be.
Before signing, she completed the required medical and now links up with David González’s side to bolster the attack.
