Jérémy Jacquet made his first start for France in the 1-0 Nations League win in Belgium on Monday.

According to L'Équipe, the Liverpool defender impressed, but he will have to back it up if he is to unsettle the centre-back hierarchy.

In October 2025, he already had a clear idea of his path. Back from a year-long loan at Clermont between January 2024 and February 2025, he was stringing together starts at Stade Rennais.

Speaking from Clairefontaine while with the under-21s, he described himself as self-assured and willing to make sacrifices to reach his objectives.
