Barcelona are closely monitoring 18 year-old winger Jesse Bisiwu and could move to sign him in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Why Barcelona are interested in Bisiwu

Barcelona have been linked with a move for Jesse Bisiwu, a highly rated young winger currently playing for Club Brugge’s youth and reserve teams.

The Catalan club are following his progress closely after strong season at youth level in Belgium.

Bisiwu has impressed with his performances in UEFA Youth League and on the international stage which has pushed him onto the radar of several major European clubs.

Barcelona see him as a long-term project, rather than immediate first-team signing.

Style compared to Lamine Yamal

Ghanaian scout Vinyl Tong who has followed the player closely, shared his view on Bisiwu in comments to Sport. He described the teenager as modern winger who fits possession-based football and said parts of his game remind him of Lamine Yamal during his early days at La Masia.

Bisiwu is a Belgian national of Ghanaian origin. He is known for his pace, close control and confidence in one on one situations.

He usually plays on the left wing where he likes to cut inside onto his stronger right foot.

A player for the future, not immediate impact

Inside football circles, Bisiwu is seen as a player with high potential rather than ready-made solution for the senior team.

Barcelona are believed to be considering him as an option for Barça Atlètic, with clear development plan if the deal goes through.

Reports also suggest that Barcelona’s sporting staff recently visited Belgium where Bisiwu’s name was highlighted as a key target for the academy and reserve setup.

His technical ability, discipline and calm progress without media pressure have strengthened the club’s interest.

Contract situation and player preference

Bisiwu is under contract with Club Brugge until 2027 but his situation is being watched closely as interest grows. Club Brugge would like to extend his contract but the growing attention suggests that talks could speed up before the summer window opens.
