City were last week found guilty of more than 100 breaches, with allegations of sham contracts used to inflate revenue by more than £800m across nine years between 2009 and 2018. The club have appealed and could face anything from a heavy points deduction to expulsion. Chief executive Ferran Soriano has called the decision a “Premier League conspiracy theory” in a message to staff.
