Jhon Arias started as Colombia were knocked out by Switzerland on penalties after a 0-0 draw in the World Cup last 16.

According to Nosso Palestra, the Palmeiras winger, wearing number 11, was withdrawn after 66 minutes, a decision that drew criticism from some supporters.

The tournament is being staged in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Palmeiras have players in four national teams.

The club's contingent includes Mauricio, Gustavo Gómez and Ramón Sosa with Paraguay, Flaco López with Argentina, Emiliano Martínez and Joaquin Piquerez with Uruguay, and Jhon Arias with Colombia.
