Jhon Durán has been endorsed by former Colombia striker Juan Pablo Ángel, who believes the new Benfica forward has the tools to become world-class.

According to Glorioso 1904, Durán has joined on loan from Al Nassr in a deal worth 6.1 million euros, aiming to relaunch his career in European football and rebuild confidence.

Ángel says Durán possesses the attributes to reach the highest level, adding that several clubs have invested in him in the belief he can settle and find continuity and consistency.

He views the move to Benfica as a step that could speed up the Colombian’s development, stressing that the player is young, will mature and learn, and that his skill set suits the modern game.

Ángel highlighted Durán’s physicality, pace and finishing, his ability to lead the line and hold the ball, a strong shot and a decent aerial presence.

Durán arrives to compete with Vangelis Pavlidis and offer Marco Silva another option in attack. If he finds consistency and turns potential into output, he could become a major weapon for Benfica.
