Wolves are interested in São Paulo youngster Pedro Bezerra as they look to add more quality to Cesar Peixoto’s squad.

The Portuguese head coach arrived at Molineux in the summer, and whilst it was a busy period, Wanderers didn’t have the major overhaul that many were anticipating.

However, the early signs are positive, as Peixoto has a stacked squad, and his team have picked up 14 points from seven games, leaving them firmly in the automatic promotion picture at this stage.

Of course, returning to the Premier League at the first attempt is the goal for Wolves, and fans will hope the hierarchy are in a position to back Peixoto in January if it’s required.

Yet, even if the short-term aim is clear, Wolves must also have an eye on the future, and it appears the recruitment team see Bezerra as someone who could make an impact at the club in the years to come.

That’s after Sport Witness claimed the Midlands outfit are tracking the 19-year-old, who is currently playing for the U20 side with São Paulo.

The update explains that there’s no suggestion Wolves are poised to make an offer for Bezerra, but he is seemingly on their radar due to his performances for São Paulo.

With Bezerra yet to make a first-team appearance for the Brazilian giants, it’s fair to say that he is unlikely to be someone Wolves would sign to help their promotion push this season.

But, he is highly-rated by the club, and he has been training with the first-team recently, as São Paulo consider handing the youngster his debut.

Bezerra is a midfielder who can play different roles, as he is capable of operating as a deeper player who is integral to the build-up, whilst he has also featured as a number ten, with his technical ability and eye for a pass meaning he can flourish further up the pitch too.

So, he has a skill-set that will appeal to those at Wolves, who obviously feel he has the potential to make a mark in English football, despite the physical nature of it.

If a move does materialise, Bezerra would join a growing list of Brazilian players to arrive at Molineux, and it would be another signing direct from South America.

The most high-profile success story in recent years was Joao Gomes, who joined from Flamengo, and was then sold on for a huge profit to Aston Villa, after impressing during his time in Old Gold.

As well as that, current midfielder and fan favourite Andre was a signing from Fluminense, and he will be key for Peixoto’s side as they try to reach the Premier League.
