João Palhinha has bid farewell to Tottenham after a season on loan, returning to Bayern Munich, where he is not in their plans and his destination for 2026/27 remains unclear.

According to Glorioso 1904, the 30-year-old had been linked with Benfica but showed no interest in signing, and any return to Portugal would only come via Sporting.

His social media message expressed deep gratitude for the kindness and support he received at the club, describing an experience that shaped him professionally and personally and would stay with him.

He highlighted supporters as the club's constant as players, coaches and directors come and go, and added that London had given him more than a career, with two homes he will always carry.

Palhinha was a key figure for Spurs last season as they battled until the end to secure Premier League survival, making 45 appearances with seven goals and two assists.
