Chelsea take on PSG tomorrow in what will be the biggest club game (or close to) in the career of many players in Blue.

Joao Pedro is playing his first season in the Champions League, and in an interview with the UEFA website yesterday he gave credit to his coach for his hot form:

“I think my form is largely down to the conversations I’ve had with Liam, from him showing that he genuinely wants to help me improve,” the striker said.

“When you feel that support from the manager, you push yourself harder every day, and because of that, I’m improving steadily.”

Joao Pedro thanks Liam Rosenior’s coaching for goalscoring form

Rosenior had already said that a large part of the focus of he and his coaching staff had been on JP’s movement and positioning in the box, and we’ve already seen in games like the match against Aston Villa last week where he bagged three that it’s paying off. He’s scoring tap ins, and we love to see that.

It seems like not only has the striker been improved, he’s also just playing in a system which works well to set up the striker.

Let’s pray he’s still on that hot streak when we play PSG tomorrow…
