Joaquín Freitas says he has had little contact with former River Plate team-mate Colidio since moving to Flamengo, and is eager to sample Rio derbies.
"I have not had many chances to speak to Colidio since we arrived in Brazil, but I already know the rivalry with Vasco and Fluminense is very strong. I am very keen to see the derby environment, to observe the fans and the atmosphere in these matches," he told Coluna Do Fla on Thursday.
The pair featured together at River Plate until early in the second half of the year, and have since swapped Argentina for Rio de Janeiro clubs.
They are scheduled to face each other on 29 October when Flamengo play Vasco in the Brasileirão, with the kick-off time and venue yet to be confirmed.
Freitas was Flamengo’s second mid-year signing and has been given minutes by Leonardo Jardim.
He debuted against Remo at Estádio Mangueirão in the league, then came off the bench at Maracanã to set up Bruno Henrique’s winner against Corinthians.
Flamengo next visit Santos on Thursday eight October in the Brasileirão, with kick-off at 19:30 Brasília time at Estádio Vila Belmiro.
