Joel Veltman has signed a one-year contract at West Ham, with an option for a further season, and wants to help the relegated Hammers return to the Premier League.

The former Albion right-back has committed ahead of their Championship campaign at the London Stadium. According to TheArgus.co.uk, he rejected interest from European clubs, including Strasbourg, where David Weir is director of football.

Veltman said the project appealed and that the club's target is a Premier League return this season. He believes he can offer experience, a winning mentality and togetherness, noting his leadership from captaining Ajax.
