Johan Manzambi has joined Aston Villa, signing on Friday. According to L'Équipe, the contract length was not disclosed and the fee is estimated at about €60 million.
The Swiss had been linked with Newcastle but opted for Villa. He joined Fribourg in 2023, making 58 appearances and scoring nine goals.

Manzambi, 20, impressed for Switzerland at the 2026 World Cup with three goals and two assists, emerging as one of the tournament's revelations.
He did not finish the competition, missing the last 16 and quarter-final with a knee contusion.
In a twist, he now arrives at the Europa League holders, who beat Fribourg 3-0 in the final, the only professional club he has represented.
