Johan Micoud joins Ligue 1+ as commentator for the coming season

Johan Micoud has joined Ligue 1+ as a commentator for the coming season, L'Équipe reports.

The former Girondins de Bordeaux midfielder will cover up to two Ligue 1 matches each weekend. The broadcaster has also added Clément Grenier from Canal+.

Micoud will be on the Saturday 17:15 fixture, a slot previously held by beIN Sports. On selected matchdays he will also cover the Sunday 17:15 game.

He is scheduled to begin on the second matchday with Strasbourg v Lens on Saturday 29 August.

A long-standing pundit on L'Équipe du Soir, the ex-France international, capped 17 times, has previously commentated matches for Prime Video for one season.
