After five and a half years with FC Red Bull Salzburg, Mamady Diambou is leaving our club. The 23-year-old Malian midfielder has signed a contract with Stade Brest 29 and will therefore now play in Ligue 1.
Diambou came to Salzburg from his native Mali in January 2021 and initially played for FC Liefering as a co-operation player, where he recorded three goals and three assists in 32 appearances. In the autumn of 2021, the determined midfielder made his debut for our Red Bulls before going on loan to FC Luzern in the spring of 2023, where he made 14 appearances.
In total, Diambou made 80 appearances for us, winning two league titles and one UNIQA ÖFB Cup.
Mamady came to us from Mali as a very young player and made important steps in his development with us. He now has the opportunity to take on a new challenge in Ligue 1. We thank Mamady for his time with us and wish him all the best and every success at Stade Brest!
