Former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has just named what he believes is the best trio in the Premier League right now.

We’ve been covering a few quotes from Mikel this morning off the back of his latest Podcast this week – there’s some quotes that surfaced around Chelsea not being ready to win the Premier League title yet this season because they still lack the experience to do so.

I’ve also been covering an interview with former Chelsea player and manager Ruud Gullit this morning, which has some really good stuff in about Gullit rating Enzo Maresca and some other bits and pieces.

Overall, Chelsea are doing pretty good this season despite some inconsistencies. The fact is, they are currently third in the Premier League as we get to the middle of November, so that is a pretty decent outlook right now.

Mikel says Chelsea have best trio

Mikel thinks that Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo, and Cole Palmer is the best midfield trio in the Premier League right now.

Speaking on his latest Podcast, Mikel said:

“There is no better midfield trio in the Premier League. They are the best.

“I don’t think they’re better than our trio. I think when you look at what Caicedo is doing right now, there’s no better no 6 in the country right now, in the world, there’s none.

“And when you have a fit Cole Palmer, there’s no there’s no better in terms of creativity, in terms of scoring goals, in terms of influencing the game, there’s no better than Cole Palmer.

“And of course, Enzo Fernandez also is getting there. But for me, when you talk about a midfield trio, there’s no better.”
