The former Crystal Palace owner has eyes on a number of different Championship clubs
Former Crystal Palace owner John Textor has placed a whopping £400 million bid to buy Premier League side Wolves, but the American businessman still has eyes on numerous second-tier sides, too.
The Athletic have reported that Textor, who sold his shares in Palace in June, is looking to replace the current FA Cup holders in his Eagle Football Group, and the current basement side in the top flight are seemingly his number one option to do so.
However, he also has links with five different Championship clubs, with the piece stating that he has been looking at Sheffield Wednesday, who are currently in need of an owner after being placed into administration last Friday, alongside Charlton Athletic, QPR, Derby County and Watford as potential clubs to launch a bid for.
There are plenty of complications surrounding a purchase, as Textor is currently undergoing some legal battles himself, but the EFG owner seems ready to get back to owning a club in England.

The Athletic's Matt Slater has revealed that John Textor is not only interested in purchasing Wolves, but also a quintet of Championship clubs, too.
Charlton, Derby, QPR, Sheffield Wednesday and Watford were all name-dropped in the piece, as the American businessman looks to add an English club back to his Eagle Football Group, after he sold his shares of Crystal Palace to New York Jets owner Woody Johnson earlier this year.
Textor still owns Brazilian side Botafogo, Ligue 1 outfit Lyon and Belgium's RWDM Brussels, so a purchase of a Championship club would be a more cost-effective way to maintain his multi-club ownership.
It's been reported that he's lodged a bid of £400 million to buy Wolves, and the expectations are that Fosun Group, which has owned the Molineux-based side since 2016, will reject it, as they'd only be willing to sell a minority stake in the club.
If Textor wants to own a club outright, a Championship side that will be worth a fraction of the mammoth nine-figure bid he sent to Wolves, would be a better avenue to go down.

Ultimately, the takeover bid news isn't garnering too much attention because Textor and the EFG are currently in the limelight for different reasons.
The American businessman was relieved of his decision-making role at Lyon after their tumultuous summer, which almost saw them undergo administrative relegation to the French second tier. EFG's main lender, Ares Management, is currently in dispute with Textor over the money they lent him to buy the French club.
Additionally, disagreements with another shareholder, Iconic Sports Eagle Investment, over owed money are set to go to trial next year, and he's still facing legal action from former Botafogo manager, Bruno Lage, over jobs he "may or may not have been offered" within the group, according to The Athletic's piece.
