Jonathan David has been revived at Atletico Madrid as the Canadian striker makes a mockery of his struggles at Juventus, and the Bianconeri can now prepare to get their hands on some money when he leaves permanently in the summer.

David is on loan at the Spanish club after struggling to find goals at Juve since joining the Bianconeri last season. Juventus were confident that he had what it took to succeed in Spain, but they would not have expected him to make such an immediate impact.

David Makes Fast Start in Spain

David was never expected to hit the ground running immediately, particularly with Randal Kolo Muani also yet to score a goal for Juventus since arriving in Turin. The situation has made the Canadian’s strong start at Atletico even more notable.

Luciano Spalletti was convinced that David was not the type of striker he needed and pushed for the Canadian to leave. Juventus subsequently replaced him with Nick Woltemade and are now waiting for the German striker to start finding the back of the net.

Meanwhile, Atletico are enjoying the benefit of having David in their squad. The Canadian scored a goal and provided an assist for the Spanish club against Osasuna last night, according to Football Italia.

David had already made his debut for Atletico against Liverpool in the Champions League, but it was in his second appearance against Real Sociedad that he made his first significant impact.

David Finds His Scoring Touch

David came off the bench against Real Sociedad and scored his first goal for Atletico, giving the striker the confidence he needed to push for a starting role. His performance earned him a place in the starting XI against Osasuna.

The Canadian once again produced an impressive display, scoring and providing an assist as Atletico secured another positive result. He has now scored in back-to-back matches for the La Liga side, showing the form that Juventus hoped he would produce in Turin.

For Juventus, David’s resurgence could eventually have financial benefits if Atletico decide to make his move permanent in the summer. The Bianconeri will now watch his progress closely as he attempts to maintain his excellent start in Spain.
