Bayern Munich defender Jonathan Tah was naturally pleased after his side secured a 2-1 first-leg win over Real Madrid at the Bernabéu in the Champions League quarter-finals on Tuesday.
“It’s something special to win here, it’s not easy," said Tah via FC Bayern’s website, adding that he's eager to carry the momentum into the return leg in Munich next week.
“We know there’s still a second game, and that one will be in front of our fans. We’ve prepared everything to deliver a very good game in Munich and to give everything to progress. We’re very happy, also with the way we came here – with a lot of courage and conviction. We could even have scored one or two more goals.
“We’ve put ourselves in a good position for the second leg. In the end, it’s about getting our game onto the pitch, and we managed that very well in phases. But you also have to respect the opponent – they can create dangerous situations, and even there we did well because we defended together," the centre-back concluded.
