Jesus and Jardim are friends, and the former Flamengo coach struck an approving tone about the current regime.

Since taking charge, Jardim has overseen 13 matches, winning 10, drawing two and losing one. The sole defeat was a 3-0 reverse against Red Bull Bragantino, and he has already lifted the Campeonato Carioca against Fluminense.

Flamengo remain in contention on three fronts under Jardim. They top Libertadores Group A, sit second in the Brasileirão, and beat Vitória in the first leg of the Copa do Brasil fifth phase.

Jesus previously made history with Flamengo, arriving in 2019 to win the Campeonato Brasileiro and the Libertadores. The following year he added the Supercopa do Brasil, the Campeonato Carioca and the Recopa Sudamericana.

Flamengo visit Estudiantes (ARG) on Wednesday (29) at 21:30 (Brasília time) in the Copa Libertadores.
