Jorge Mendes pushing Barcelona midfielder towards Serie A move | OneFootball

FC Barcelona are looking to offload several of their players in this summer transfer window, especially the ones who are not going to feature prominently for Hansi Flick in the upcoming 2026-27 season.

One such player is the midfielder Marc Casado, who saw his playing time reduce significantly in the last season, especially as Gavi and Marc Bernal both recovered from their injuries, and the German coach preferred both of them over Casado. His situation is not expected to improve next season either, as the Blaugrana coach will have seven players for three midfield slots.

In such a context, recent reports suggested that the Spaniard has already agreed to a departure from the club. He has been linked with several clubs from around the world, but has yet to make a final decision, mainly because he wants to take his time picking a side that would allow him to continue his growth and development.

While he is still pondering over his options, SPORT notes that another important avenue has opened up for him in Italy, as AC Milan can make a bet on him. Jorge Mendes, who has been tasked by Barcelona to find a new club for him, is pushing the Rossoneri club to incorporate the midfielder in their team.

The agent, although not having him in his clientele, still influenced the appointment of Ruben Amorim as the manager for the Italian side, and is now also progressing with another transfer to Milan, that of the PSG striker Goncalo Ramos.

He might be able to convince AC Milan to take on Casado, but several barriers remain. Firstly, they will have to move one of their current midfielders, and Fofana is looking primed for a move. Similarly, the Rossoneri are not willing to spend a lot of money on the Spaniard, and would look mainly for a loan with an optional purchase clause.

There is no doubt that AC Milan could turn out to be a good fit for Marc Casado, especially if their new coach is willing to play him regularly. However, it remains to be seen whether they can arrive at an agreement with Barcelona for his transfer.
