Jorgen Strand Larsen has completed a club-record move to Crystal Palace from Wolves, with the £48m transfer announced shortly after the 7pm deadline.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Leeds were interested in the Norway striker but would not exceed what they considered a sensible valuation because of their Profitability and Sustainability position. Their bid was rejected last week as Palace pushed ahead.

Palace advanced amid uncertainty around Mateta, who looked set to join AC Milan before the Italians walked away. Mateta is now set to stay.

Strand Larsen has signed a four-and-a-half year contract, will wear No. 22, and becomes Palace’s third January arrival. The 25-year-old spent 18 months at Molineux after joining from Celta Vigo, scoring 14 Premier League goals in 35 games in 2024/25 and 20 in 64 overall.

This season he has six goals, one in the league, and his final Wolves treble came against Shrewsbury in the FA Cup last month. Earlier in his career he played for Sarpsborg and Groningen, and he has 24 Norway caps with four goals.
